The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a luxury automobile that was introduced in the late 1980s. The S-Class name stands for “Severe” and “Supreme”. It was the first automobile in the world to feature a fully autonomous self-driving driving mode. In addition, it was the first vehicle to feature vehicle-to-vehicle communication technology.

The S-Class was produced in two series of turbocharged petrol and diesel models. Diesel models use OM656 and OM656-PD/PDM 2.4-litre engines, whereas the petrol engine series uses OM654B and OM654B2 diesel engines, and OM626 and OM626-PD/PDM 6.3-litre V12 diesel engines.
