The initial impressions of the kalimba surprised me – stunning look and delightful sound right from the box. Overall, it’s a pretty solid piece better than the most expensive kalimba out there.
It’s ergonomically designed with dents on the side for your thumb to rest. The keys are engraved, which makes them aesthetically pleasing. And for this very kalimba, learning the basics is extremely easy. Together with the music piece comes a black storage bag, a tuning hammer, stickers for the keys, a music tabs book, and a manual.
Tuning the keys is exceptionally interesting. All you need is to download the Instuner for iOS users and gStrings for Android users. Then tune with the hammer. Making tunes shorter will increase the pitch and making them longer will make their pitch lower.
It is beautifully designed, lightweight, and great for children and those with small hands like me. It has more than enough quality features at a price point that is difficult to beat.
